Monmore Auto Parts & Midwest Motor Factors have begun planning for the busy winter season by bringing more than 40 garages together to train on rotating electrics and batteries.
In another well-attended event held at GTG Academy in Wolverhampton, garages were first given a presentation on Automechanika Birmingham 2019, highlighting the innovation and leading suppliers at the event to be held from 4 to 6 June 2019.
After, garages were given presentations by Goliath batteries and Dynomach rotating electrics. Each presentation looked into the current and emerging technologies of both product groups and the various challenges garages face on a daily basis.
With many media outlets predicting the coldest UK winter for 10 years, the motor factor is wasting no time in ensuring garages have access to the right products that work first time, every time.
Midwest and Monmore have brought back the Goliath battery station for another season, supporting garages in the promotion of free battery checks. The station is supplied with free posters and literature, enabling garages to encourage its customers to get their vehicle looked over, leading to an increase in battery sales.
The Goliath brand comprises more than 60-part numbers covering 95 percent of the UK vehicle parc. A number of references have been uprated with more power ahead of their launch and now the ever-popular 063 reference is now available as a 41amp hour battery with 390cca, while the 075 is now a 60amp hour battery 540cca. All batteries are available with a three-year warranty.
The Dynomach rotating electrics range offers a 20 month / 20,000 mile warranty. Starters and alternators are of OE specification and comprise brand new units, meaning no surcharge is applied.
Jeremy Turner of Macrome Garage attended the event. He said: “The complexity of vehicles and their components means it is essential that garages take advantage of the training available to them. As a garage, it’s easy to ignore the emerging technologies, but when you see tangible facts on the stop-start battery market from Goliath batteries, you realise what a major impact it will have on your business. The presentations were a real eye-opener but also it gave you confidence in understanding more about the parts and brands you are fitting and the support that is in place.â€
A raffle was also held on the evening for a Bilston Town football shirt and Love 2 Shop vouchers.
Craig McCracken, group factor manager, said: “The most important thing is that garages have confidence in the products they are fitting. With a harsh winter season expected, garages want to fit a quality product that works and these events underline the brand’s expertise and also support available to them.”
