AAG acquires Bünde-based Klapper Autoteile GmbH

04 Sep 2017

Klapper is a full-line automotive parts wholesaler with its headquarters in Bünde and supplies over 1,000 customers, most of which are independent garages. The company is a leading regional supplier of automotive spare parts in the East Westphalia region, generating a turnover of over €7 million.

“The customer focus of Alliance Automotive Germany GmbH and its companies Coler, Busch and Büge, coupled with the company’s considerable expertise in supporting independent garages and its position as part of an international group, convinced me that we have found the ideal partner to develop our family-owned company and secure a successful future,” said Andreas Klapper at the signing of the transaction. “I look forward to working with the Alliance Automotive Group and will continue in my role as CEO of Klapper Autoteile GmbH Co. KG.”
“We are delighted to welcome Klapper Autoteile GmbH Co. KG as the newest member of the AAG organisation,” added Jean-Jaques Lafont, CEO and co-founder of AAG. “With now four companies in Germany – Coler, Busch, Büge and Klapper –, we have established a successful network in the west of the country and intend to continue this growth strategy across the rest of Germany.”

AAG is one of the largest companies in Europe supplying passenger and commercial vehicle spare parts in the independent aftermarket and is set to generate a turnover of €2 billion in 2017. Trading under the Groupauto France, Précisium, Partners and Gef’Auto brands in France, Groupauto UK, UAN and FPS in the UK as well as Coler GmbH & Co. KG, Busch Handelsgesellschaft mbH and Büge GmbH in Germany, AAG supplies some 1,500 regional parts wholesalers and over 26,000 garages with over 100,000 different parts for repair and maintenance. Headquartered in London, the company is owned by US investment company Blackstone as well as by the company’s founders.
